• Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a generally small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent destination, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular gambling locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is true of most border crossings.

The original Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling den, features one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 60 tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slots and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel compound that features many amenities accompanying the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
