There are a number gambling dens in the commonwealth, most on docked river boats. Furthermore, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is available 24 hours, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and four dining rooms. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slot machines, and 39 table games.
A smaller Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a paddle wheel boat gambling hall in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slots, and 14 table games. Another Iowa riverboat gambling den, The Isle of Capri, is open all day and night, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. river boat gambling den in Clinton, has 506 one armed bandits, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday chemin de fer matches.
Iowa casinos present an excellent amount of tax revenue to the state government of Iowa, which has enabled the budgeting of a good many state wide projects. Tourism has increased at a fast percentage accompanied with the demand for services and an increase in jobs. Iowa gambling halls have been instrumental to the advancement of the market, and the enthusiasm for betting in Iowa is across the board.
