• Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia casinos that reside just across the border from nearby Thailand, in which gambling hall gambling is against the law. Eight gambling dens are established in a relatively small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are methods around this, as is accurate of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau gambling den, features 150 slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are 150 one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the familiar tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international vacation and hotel building that highlights numerous conveniences aside from the gambling den, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 tables.
